Basketball Game Preview: Safford Bulldogs vs. Empire Ravens

The Safford Bulldogs will square off against the Empire Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Safford took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 56-46 victory over Round Valley.

Meanwhile, Empire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 84-71 to Sabino. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (69), the Ravens still had to take the loss.

Safford will have to contain Donovan Davidson as he made an impact in Empire's last game. He posted 31 points and three steals. Davidson's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Khari Gurley was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight boards and three steals.

Empire's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Safford, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
