The O'Fallon Panthers will challenge the Breese Central Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. O'Fallon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

O'Fallon is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Vianney, who was ranked third in their home state at the time (O'Fallon was ranked 20th). The Panthers took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Griffins on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

O'Fallon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Blue, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Breese Central entered their tilt with Belleville East on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Lancers.

Breese Central pushed their record up to 16-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for O'Fallon, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.
