Basketball Recap: Thornton Fractional South Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Thornton Fractional South couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were beaten by the Marist RedHawks 65-36 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Red Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the RedHawks are ranked 29th).

Thornton Fractional South's defeat dropped their record down to 23-10. As for Marist, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-8.

Thornton Fractional South does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marist, they will face off against Sandburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
