Softball Recap: Jacobs' Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Jacobs lost against Crystal Lake Central back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Golden Eagles fell 6-1 to the Tigers.

Skylee Ferrante spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jacobs saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talia Disilvio, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Jacobs' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-15. As for Crystal Lake Central, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jacobs will square off against rival McHenry at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Crystal Lake Central is set to face off against their familiar foe Prairie Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.1, the Wolves 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
