Basketball Recap: Liberty Christian Comes Up Short

Liberty Christian lost against Hilltop Christian back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Liberty Christian Patriots lost to the Hilltop Christian Chargers on the road by a 58-44 margin. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

It was another big night for Caleb Manriquez, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks for Hilltop Christian. Those four blocks gave Manriquez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nehemiah Kassa, who posted seven points.

Liberty Christian's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hilltop Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Liberty Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hilltop Christian, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Greenville Christian Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hilltop Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
