Volleyball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Rancho Solano Prep's Winning Streak

After flying high against Fountain Hills on Friday, Rancho Solano Prep came back down to earth. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since September 17th.

Rancho Solano Prep took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-13, 25-23.

Leading Scottsdale Preparatory Academy to victory were Sophia Lee and Brielle Amarel. Lee had ten digs and two aces, while Amarel had ten digs and two assists. That's the most digs Amarel has posted over her last eight matchups.

Rancho Solano Prep moved to 21-10 with that loss, which also ended their six-match winning streak. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-10.

Coming up, Rancho Solano Prep will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Scottsdale Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they will square off against Heritage Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
