Valley View is 6-1 against Wallenpaupack Area since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buckhorns at 7:00 p.m. Wallenpaupack Area took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley View, who comes in off a win.

Valley View is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Wyoming Valley West 52-21. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Valley View, racking up 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Gabe Davis, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Valley View's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. The heavy lifting was done by Brady Cunningham and Brody Call, who racked up all four sacks between them.

Meanwhile, Wallenpaupack Area's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 14-13 to Pittston. The Buckhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valley View will need to focus on slowing down Jake Rafferty, one of several Wallenpaupack Area players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 141 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 33 yards. 85 of Rafferty's passing yards were hauled in by Mason Gonzalez, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Valley View now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Wallenpaupack Area, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everything went Valley View's way against Wallenpaupack Area in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Valley View made off with a 34-13 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Buckhorns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
