Basketball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Curtis Baptist

Curtis Baptist waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They managed a 52-48 victory over the Aquinas Fightin' Irish.

Curtis Baptist's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Treivan Wright, who went 10 of 13 en route to 28 points. Wright's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Husband, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Curtis Baptist's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Aquinas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Curtis Baptist and Alleluia Community will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Aquinas, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hephzibah at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
