Basketball Recap: Waterloo Takes a Loss

Waterloo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 77-17 defeat at the hands of the Belleville Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Wildcats are ranked 87th).

Waterloo's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Belleville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

When Waterloo and Belleville next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Waterloo will try to stop Abundant Life/St. Ambrose Academy's nine-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Belleville will take on Mineral Point and their five-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
