Volleyball Recap: North Boone Vikings vs. Freeport Pretzels
North Boone had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freeport Pretzels on Monday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pretzels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
While North Boone had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21.
Julianna Torres paced North Boone's offense, picking up four kills. Torres got some help from Gabryella Taylor and her nine assists. Finally, Kierya Robinson kept North Boone's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
Freeport's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Muench, who had ten digs.
North Boone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Alden-Hebron on the 26th. Freeport has also already played their next game (against Harlem), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
