Cobden barely beat Meridian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Cobden blew past Meridian 15-5 on Wednesday. 15 seems to be a good number for the Appleknockers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Abby Pitts made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Pitts was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Natalie Franklin was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Keela Kaszubski, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Cobden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meridian only managed five hits.

Cobden wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-4 defeat against Pope County on the 27th. As for Meridian, they are taking a road trip to take on Elverado at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
