Basketball Recap: Wilson Memorial Takes a Loss

Wilson Memorial and Liberty Christian squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Wilson Memorial had to settle for second. They lost 74-51 to the Liberty Christian Bulldogs. The Green Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-15.

Liberty Christian was led to victory by Jisaiah Bryant and Michael Chestnut. Bryant went 6-for-8 to rack up 17 points and eight rebounds, while Chestnut made all 8 shots he took for 17 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Chestnut a new career-high in points. Ryan Jackson was another key player, putting up five points and eight assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Wilson Memorial and nudges their season record down to 19-5. As for Liberty Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-5.

Wilson Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty Christian, they have already played their next matchup, a 57-56 defeat against Western Albemarle on the 26th.
