Baseball Recap: Amboy Has No Trouble Against Hiawatha

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Amboy had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Hiawatha Hawks. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Clippers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Amboy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Carter, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Carter has become a key player for the Clippers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-12 otherwise. Another was Carson Barlow, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

The win got Amboy back to even at 12-12. As for Hiawatha, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

As of now, neither Amboy nor Hiawatha have any future games scheduled.
