Recap: Meridian Trojans vs. Mount Vernon Bulldogs
After soaring to ten runs the game before, Meridian were a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Vernon Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Meridian of the 19-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.
Meridian saw one different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Ritter, who went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run.
Having lost for the first time this season, Meridian fell to 2-1.
Meridian will head out on the road to face off against Granite Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Vernon, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Monroe at 4:30 p.m. on April 4th.
