Baseball Recap: Beddingfield Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Princeton, Beddingfield was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Spring Creek Gators 11-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bruins as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ashton Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Justin Kirby, who fired off three triples, four runs, and two stolen bases while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Beddingfield: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-16 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Abazan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Beddingfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Beddingfield's win bumped their record up to 3-17. As for Spring Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

As of now, neither Beddingfield nor the Gators have any future games scheduled.
