Webster Schroeder gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over the Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets. For Webster Schroeder, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 defeat Rush-Henrietta walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.
Liana DeValder was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. DeValder was also big at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.
