Softball Recap: Pulaski County Has No Trouble Against Northside

Pulaski County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Northside, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars blew past the Vikings 10-3 on Thursday. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 9-3 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2020.

Addison Puckett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Puckett was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Pulaski County got a massive performance out of Victoria Hale, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits Hale has posted since back in April of 2024. Ava Sauder was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

The win got Pulaski County back to even at 2-2. As for Northside, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Pulaski County will venture away from home to challenge Cave Spring at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Northside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hidden Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
