Volleyball Recap: Granite Bay Takes a Loss

Granite Bay was the 2-0 winner over Whitney when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Grizzlies took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Monday.

While Granite Bay ultimately came up short, they really made Whitney work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16, 20-25, 26-24.

Whitney can attribute much of their success to Gavin Roeker, who had 17 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Roeker has posted since back in April of 2024.

Granite Bay has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-15 record this season. As for Whitney, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-19 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Granite Bay is set to take on their familiar foe Del Oro at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Whitney will square off against rival Rocklin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
