Recap: Grafton Clippers vs. Heritage Hurricanes
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Grafton Clippers can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Heritage on Friday, falling 44-14. Grafton's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Luke Bryant threw for 34 yards on five of 17 attempts. Jaden Brown was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards. On the ground, Makale Barnett rushed for 51 yards.
Heritage was led to victory by Tyree Wilson and Derrick Gurley jr. Wilson rushed for 41 yards and three touchdowns, while Gurley jr rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Grafton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Heritage, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Grafton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Heritage is on the road again on Friday and play against Hopewell at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Hopewell is ranked 74th, while Heritage is ranked 63rd).
