Basketball Recap: East Newton Takes a Loss

East Newton has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 59-33 to the McDonald County Mustangs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-33 on Monday.

East Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for McDonald County, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Newton will venture away from home to square off against Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McDonald County, they will challenge Cassville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
