Baseball Recap: Discovery Takes a Loss

Discovery came into this matchup off a tough 15-run loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Ridge Community Bolts by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Spartans have struggled against the Bolts recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Discovery saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Faulkner, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI. Maddox Rosado was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Discovery's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Ridge Community, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Discovery will challenge Lake Gibson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.29 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ridge Community, they will face off against Frostproof at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
