Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Killian Biles and Liam Von Schalscha Lead Burney to Victory + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Burney walked away with it. They secured a 24-18 W over the Butte Valley Bulldogs on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-0 back in September.

A big part of Burney's victory came down to the chemistry between Killian Biles and his top target Liam Von Schalscha. Biles rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown while Von Schalscha rushed for 84 yards and a pair of TDs.

Burney's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 5.5 times. Leading the way was Greeley Wolfin with two sacks. Burney is undefeated when Wolfin posts one or more sacks, but 3-4 otherwise. Another thorn in Butte Valley's side was Alexander Vargas, who picked up 0.5 sacks and made 18 total tackles.

The win made it two in a row for Burney and bumps their season record up to 7-4. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points over those games. As for Butte Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Burney will head out on the road to face off against Loyalton at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th. Butte Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
