Recap: Wayne Warriors vs. Unioto Shermans
Even though the Unioto Shermans scored an imposing 56 points on Sunday, the Wayne Warriors still came out on top. Wayne secured a 60-56 W over Unioto.
Wayne got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Morgyn Rose out in front who scored 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Rose has scored at least 25% of Wayne's points. Amiel Jones was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Unioto's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Milee Smith, who scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds, and Amaris Betts who scored 19 points. Smith scored a full 35.7% of Unioto's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The win got Wayne back to even at 1-1. As for Unioto, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne will take on Miamisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Unioto, they will be playing at home against Paint Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
