Softball Recap: Twin Valley South Takes a Loss

Twin Valley South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-4 to the Newton Local Indians. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Paityn Cross made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Howard, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

Twin Valley South's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Newton Local, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Twin Valley South will take on Madison at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mohawks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Newton Local, they will face off against National Trail at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
