Baseball Recap: San Rafael Sets Scoring Season-High Against Terra Linda

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Rafael). Everything went their way against the Terra Linda Trojans on Friday as San Rafael made off with a 20-2 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Cruz Wexler made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aedan Bardoul, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and two doubles while going 4-for-6. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colby Jackson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

San Rafael kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

San Rafael now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Terra Linda, their defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Coming up, San Rafael will take on Redwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games Redwood has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Terra Linda, they will square off against Tamalpais at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tamalpais' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Terra Linda's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
