Bonsall dropped their record down to 11-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Liberty Charter Lions, falling 9-2. The Legionnaires were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four matches prior), but the Lions' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Liberty Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

For Liberty Charter's part, Angie Carreon was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Carreon has launched this season. Samantha McHenry was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonsall will take on Chula Vista Learning Community Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cobras have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.67 runs per game on average), something the Legionnaires will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Liberty Charter, they will square off against Ocean View Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
