Baseball Recap: Torres Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Torres came tearing into Monday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Elizabeth Bulldogs 12-2. Considering the Toros have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Juan Barajas and Victor Damian Silva made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Barajas tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Silva tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Barajas has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Barajas went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Silva went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Torres' record now sits at 15-3. As for Elizabeth, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

As of now, neither Torres nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
