Softball Recap: Owosso Takes a Loss

Owosso suffered their closest loss since May 29, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Mt. Pleasant Oilers by a score of 3-1.

Hailie Caswell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April.

On the hitting side, Ady Freeman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Owosso has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Mt. Pleasant, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-6.

As of now, neither Owosso nor the Oilers have any future games scheduled.
