Valley Stream Central strolled into their game on Wednesday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the West Hempstead Rams with a sharp 8-1 win. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Justin Owolabi was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zion Phillips, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Valley Stream Central's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0-1.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against West Hempstead: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
