Mater Dei faced Orange Lutheran in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Monarchs strolled past the Lancers with points to spare, taking the game 25-10. That 15 point margin sets a new team best for the Monarchs this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mater Dei to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, who picked up 92 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The victory made it two in a row for Mater Dei and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Orange Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mater Dei will host Santa Margarita at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 13.7 points per game this season, so the Monarchs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Orange Lutheran, they will be playing at home against St. John Bosco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Braves will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
