Softball Recap: Forest Takes a Loss

Forest was the 18-9 winner over Lake Minneola when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Forest Wildcats fell just short of the Lake Minneola Hawks by a score of 7-6 on Friday.

Rilynn Fountain made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Aurora Shifflett, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Even though they lost, Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Minneola only posted a batting average of .226.

Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lake Minneola, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Forest will venture away from home to face off against Vanguard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Minneola, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Foundation Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
