Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Leland Chargers

Lincoln is 0-5 against Leland since December of 2014 but things could change on Friday. The Lincoln Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Leland Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Leland likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lincoln took on Prospect on Wednesday. Lincoln walked away with a 58-45 victory over Prospect.

Lincoln got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joseph Shelton out in front who posted 22 points. The contest was Shelton's tenth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Noah MacKenzie, who had 13 points.

Meanwhile, Leland came up short against Piedmont Hills on Wednesday and fell 45-34. The game marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Leland, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 13-10.

Lincoln came up short against Leland in their previous matchup back in January, falling 61-51. Can Lincoln avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
