Baseball Recap: Saline Hornets vs. Dexter Dreadnaughts
Saline had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 7-3 to make it four. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dexter Dreadnaughts. The matchup marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
As for Dexter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games.
For Dexter's part, Mason McAllister tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave McAllister a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Chance Sobbry was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
While Saline had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
