Basketball Game Preview: Princeton Eagles vs. Chester Volcanoes

After both having extra time off, the Princeton Eagles and the Chester Volcanoes will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Princeton's tournament run continued when they took on Paradise two weeks ago. Princeton was dealt a 74-45 defeat at the hands of Paradise.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Chester's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plumas Charter. The contest was a 22-22 toss-up at halftime, but the Volcanoes couldn't quite close it out.

Chester's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Princeton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Everything came up roses for Princeton against Chester when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 76-42 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Princeton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
