It was a good run, but Douglas County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Columbine Rebels by a score of 3-2. Douglas County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Columbine apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.
Reed McConnell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Douglas County is on the road again on Monday to play Cherokee Trail at 4:15 p.m. As for Columbine, they will take on Fossil Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
