Football Game Preview: Malakoff Tigers vs. Pottsboro Cardinals + How To Watch

The Malakoff Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Pottsboro Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Malakoff sitting on six straight victories and Pottsboro on nine.

Malakoff is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They took down Liberty-Eylau 28-13. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Leopards are ranked 498th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jerrion Hall had a dynamite game, rushing for 267 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pottsboro challenged Maypearl on Thursday. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 56-35 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Malakoff better focus on containing Zavier Brady and Carson Nix as the pair were huge in Pottsboro's win. Brady picked up 139 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Nix rushed for 42 yards and a pair of scores. Brady showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 50 yards.

Malakoff's record now sits at 8-3. As for Pottsboro, their record is now 10-1.
