Tonopah Valley suffers seventh straight loss on the road

Recap: Tonopah Valley Phoenix vs. Kingman Bulldogs

The Tonopah Valley Phoenix were the 67-63 winner over the Kingman Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Tonopah Valley opened the new year with a less-than-successful 51-47 defeat to they on Saturday.

It was another big night for Michael Mcculley, who scored 17 points for Kingman. Mcculley hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Logan Drummond was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.

Tonopah Valley bumped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kingman, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tonopah Valley will face off against Parker at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parker and Tonopah Valley are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Kingman, they will head out on the road to face off against Yuma Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
