Soccer Recap: Mission Viejo Comes Up Short

Mission Viejo lost against San Clemente last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mission Viejo Diablos fell just short of the San Clemente Tritons by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Diablos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 779th, while the Tritons are ranked 62nd).

Mission Viejo dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for San Clemente, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-4-1 record this season.

Mission Viejo will be playing at home against Capistrano Valley at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for San Clemente, they will head out on the road to face off against San Juan Hills at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as San Clemente comes in on four and San Juan Hills on five.
