Softball Recap: Del Norte Nighthawks vs. Carlsbad Lancers
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Del Norte). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Carlsbad Lancers on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Nighthawks also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.
Taylor Maeda and Lainey LLamas did most of the damage at the plate: Maeda scored a run while going 2-for-2, while LLamas scored two runs while going 2-for-5. Maeda also put up two RBI, which were her first of the season. Gabriella Datanagan was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
