Baseball Game Preview: Williston-Elko Blue Devils vs. Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors

The Williston-Elko Blue Devils will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Andrew Jackson Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Williston-Elko is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They lost 11-1 to Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Friday.

Meanwhile, Andrew Jackson Academy came into Saturday's match having lost 18 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Calhoun County with a sharp 8-1 victory on Saturday.

Walker Terry was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Terry wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jack Walling, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, Walling posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another was Hayden McClung, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
