Football Game Preview: West Aurora Blackhawks vs. Bartlett Hawks

The West Aurora Blackhawks will face off against the Bartlett Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Aurora has given up an average of 36.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Friday, West Aurora came up short against South Elgin and fell 42-35.

Despite the defeat, West Aurora got top-tier performance from Mason Atkins, who rushed for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 157 yards and two TDs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bartlett). They blew past Streamwood 28-7 on Friday. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Sabres recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

West Aurora's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bartlett, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Everything came up roses for West Aurora against Bartlett in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-7 victory. In that game, the Blackhawks amassed a halftime lead of 48-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
