Soccer Recap: Lely's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Lely can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Aubrey Rogers Patriots 2-1. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Patriots are ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Angel Otero and Landon Harmon scored both of Lely's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Lely now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Aubrey Rogers, they dropped their record down to 1-4-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Lely wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 9-0 victory against Community School of Naples on the 6th. As for Aubrey Rogers, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-2 loss against Naples on the 9th.
