Geneva County is 8-2 against Samson since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Geneva County Bulldogs will square off against the Samson Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Geneva County easily dispatched Houston County on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Geneva County fell just short of Cottonwood by a score of 55-53 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Samson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 76-18 loss at the hands of Providence Christian. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Eagles are ranked 116th).

Geneva County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Samson, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Geneva County beat Samson 43-33 in their previous meeting last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Geneva County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
