Baseball Recap: Citronelle Triumphs

On Wednesday, the Citronelle Wildcats beat the Montgomery Catholic Knights 10-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Bryer Leggett looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (two).

At the plate, Citronelle saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Stagner, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Stagner has become a key player for Citronelle: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Curvin Noyd was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Citronelle's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Montgomery Catholic, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9-1.

Coming up, Citronelle will challenge Charles Henderson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Montgomery Catholic, they will take on Straughn at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Straughn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
