Recap: Marion Swamp Foxes vs. Sumter Gamecocks
The Marion Swamp Foxes had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 59-53 W over Sumter on Friday.
It was another big night for Jamarius Williams , who scored 15 points along with three steals. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jamorius Wilson, who scored ten points.
Marion's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Sumter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion and South Florence will face off at 4:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully South Florence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. Sumter will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lugoff-Elgin at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. One thing working in Lugoff-Elgin's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games.
