However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Slaton Tigers will welcome the Friona Chieftans at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Slaton challenged Littlefield on Tuesday. Slaton came up short against Littlefield, falling 16-5.

Riley Martinez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Kenon Diaz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Friona lost 23-4 to Idalou on Tuesday.

Owen McGaughy was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.

Friona's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Slaton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1.
