Canyon and Santa Margarita squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Canyon had to settle for second. They lost 34-14 to the Eagles. The Comanches' defeat signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Although Canyon took the loss, they still got scores from Maya Conklin and Sophie Punsalang.

It was another big night for Madi Lam, who threw for 228 yards and four TDs while completing 75.8% of her passes, and also rushed for 43 yards and one score for Santa Margarita. Another player making a difference was Avery Finneran, who picked up 75 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 20-2. As for Santa Margarita, their record now sits at 20-7.

Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Margarita, they will host JSerra Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 13.4, the Lions 6.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
