Basketball Recap: New Albany Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only New Albany walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 57-39 victory over the Northland Vikings on Sunday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Vikings are ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Northland lost, don't look at Diante James. Despite the final result, he posted 12 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tejuan Barbour, who had four points along with six rebounds and three steals.

The win was the fourth in a row for New Albany, bringing their record for this year to 20-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. As for Northland, they moved to 19-4 with that defeat, which also ended their 13-game winning streak.
