Bishop Ireton hasn't had much luck against Archbishop Carroll recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. On Saturday, Bishop Ireton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 33-28 to Bishop O'Connell. The Cardinals were right on the edge of victory: they outscored the Knights in the fourth quarter 14-6.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Archbishop Carroll). They breezed past Riverdale Baptist to the tune of 57-18 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Archbishop Carroll's win came from a few key players Bishop Ireton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tk Davis, who rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 67 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Glass, who threw for 216 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Archbishop Carroll, racking up 18 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Victor Adeyemi: he added 18 points with six field goals.
One reason for the win was Archbishop Carroll's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece. They received some extra help from Darnell Williams, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Bishop Ireton's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Archbishop Carroll, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Davis, who rushed for 193 yards and one score while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.
