Baseball Game Preview: Orleans Bulldogs vs. Bloomfield Cardinals

The Orleans Bulldogs will take on the Bloomfield Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Orleans comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Thursday, Orleans didn't have quite enough to beat North Daviess and fell 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by just one run.

Troy Dille made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Kaden Berning was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

North Daviess hit Bloomfield with a five-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cardinals fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by just one run.

Andrew Barker was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Bloomfield has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Orleans, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
